The round-tail stubbie template has proven to be versatile in so many different kinds of waves that I decided to combine the speed and holding power of the quad fin set-up with the wider plan shape of a stubbie. Figure-8s become standard in average surf, and the boards really start to light up as the waves get hollower.
The most enthusiastic feedback about these boards has been coming from people who have made the fish design their regular go-to board. The quad fin set-up seems to be providing an easy transition from both twin keel and quad fish, and the round tail enables muscle memory used to long drawn-out lines to go past the vertical.
